MAC Tennis

Tennis & Pickleball

The MAC has 14 tennis courts –10 permanent indoor courts and four outdoor courts which are domed from October through March for indoor play. The outdoor court area is also equipped with sixteen dedicated Pickleball courts.

Tennis at the MAC includes a wide range of programs and activities.

Court Reservations

Court reservations are in thirty-minute increments and can be reserved for up to two hours. Court reservations can be made two days in advance (e.g. on Monday for Wednesday). Two state-of-the-art ball machines are available for use at a nominal fee. Courts and ball machine rentals can be done online on the MAC portal or by calling the service desk.

Adult Tennis

We believe tennis should be part of your membership experience, so there are no court fees for using the tennis facilities. Come enjoy everything from private or group lessons, competitive singles and doubles leagues, weekend social mixers, tournaments, travel teams and much more in our highly diverse and active tennis program.

Our Adult Tennis instruction includes group classes, USTA Travel Teams, Adult Leagues, Live Ball, Cardio Tennis, and several adult tennis events and mixers throughout the year.

Group Tennis Lessons

Our classes challenge you whether you are just beginning to play, haven't played in a while, or just want to take your skills and game to the next level. 

Beginner Level

Group Stroke production, keeping the ball in play, and knowing where to stand are some of the fundamentals of playing the game. Build your game so you can enjoy the sport in a social or competitive atmosphere. Refer to the MACtivities and look for 2.0-2.5 groups.

Intermediate Level Group

Building consistency and understanding how to better execute your strokes is the main goal of this class. If you are able to sustain a rally and wish to hit with more power and/or understand how to control the ball better, this is a class for you. Refer to the program guide listings and look for 3.0-3.5 groups.

Tuesday | 9:30-11 a.m. 

Tuesday | 7:30-9 p.m. 

Thursday | 12-1:30 p.m. 

Advanced Level Group

This class is for those that understand ball control with pace, with spin, and can manage directional control of the ball. All strokes can be produced and working as a team on court is evident. Refer to the program guide listings and look for 4.0+ groups.

Live Ball

Live Ball is the tennis workout that tries to check all the boxes: fitness, fun, action, and camaraderie. It's an approach to tennis where instruction takes a back seat to fitness, where servers and returners are replaced by champions and challengers, where hushed tones and handshakes are trumped by trash-talk and fist-bumps.

4.0 Level Sunday | 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.

Players must be rated at the listed level to register. Players wishing to register without a rating please email rbond@themac.org

Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis 

A fun, total-body workout for tennis players of all abilities. This group-based activity begins with a short warm-up, followed by a high-energy cardio workout, and finishes with a cool down.

Classes available throughout the week:

Sunday | 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. 

Monday | 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. (Cardio Lite) 

Tuesday | 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. 

Wednesday | 6 - 7 p.m. (Cardio Prime)

Saturday | 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. 

Saturday | 10:30 - 11:30 a.m.

Junior Tennis

Our Junior Development program is designed to take students' skills and playing knowledge to the next level. This program will challenge players of all levels and abilities with opportunities to improve and gain a better understanding of competitive situations. All students must be registered before attending class. 

The Junior Tennis program is organized by the R.O.G.Y. Program, Junior Group Tennis, and our Junior Development Program.

R.O.G.Y. Program (ages 3-10)

Registering for a R.O.G.Y. class or camp depends on playing level and age. 

  • NEW players = Must register for a Level 1 class
  • Level 2 = Invite only classes for players who have successfully graduated from Level 1 classes

Pre-Rally Red (3-5 years) 

Players will learn basic tennis skills including: catching, throwing, tracking, hitting, and moving in a fun game based learning atmosphere. Active participation by parents is encouraged. 

Red Ball 1 (5-6 years) 

Players will learn the fundamentals of tennis and continue to build their athletic awareness and skills through tennis based drills, skills, and FUN!

Orange Ball 1 (7-8 years)

Orange Ball 1 is the ideal class for players beginning the game of tennis. 

Orange Ball 2 (7-8 years)

Requires graduation Orange Ball 1. Players continue to develop full stroke production, gain a better understanding of balance, and footwork patterns. Players also work on directional control and develop better strategic choices on the larger 60' court. 

Green Ball 1 (9-10 years)

Green Ball 1 is the ideal class for players beginning the game of tennis. This class will help players understand how to produce the strokes they need to develop their game. Players will also learn strategy, footwork, and physical awareness necessary to grow as tennis players.

Green Ball 2

Requires graduation form Green Ball 1. Players in this class are using all strokes and multiple spins or ball heights to better execute their points. Players are on a full size court.

Junior Development Program 

Futures (11-14 years)

Futures is a fantastic class for those continuing to develop and understand their game with a focus on learning and FUN!

High School Squad (14-18 years)

This class is for players wanting to gain a better understanding of strategic play while improving their fundamental skills. Strengthening players' abilities to maintain a rally and use directional control are the key technical aspects of this class.

Pickleball

The MAC has eight pickleball courts for you to enjoy year-round. The MAC pickleball options are endless; we offer groups for all levels, social events, open play, leagues, and tournaments to keep you competing and enjoying the game. Members can reserve pickleball courts at no cost.
