As a community-owned and governed organization, UM Health-Sparrow serves people throughout an expanding region and has earned a reputation for quality care, service excellence, and high integrity.
As such, we aspire to communicate to our region’s employers, health plan providers, policymakers and the public timely, objective, and accurate information about performance pertaining to safety, quality, satisfaction, and value. We further believe transparency involves informing key audiences, such as Patients, Board Members, Physicians, Leaders, Caregivers, and Volunteers about our areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
We believe that transparency leads to greater accountability and performance improvement. We commit to continuously provide access to information in a way that is easy to understand, meets privacy and peer review guidelines and that can be utilized in informed decision making. UM Health-Sparrow information will be communicated in various mediums such as, but not limited to, webpages, scorecards, or newsletters.
UM Health-Sparrow will annually identify opportunities to openly share information regarding clinical quality, Patient safety, Patient satisfaction, and value performance. This may include utilization of specific data from participation in regulatory-required and other credible, voluntary public reporting initiatives, such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) websites, Blue Cross Blue Shield’s Michigan Value Collaborative and the Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s Keystone Center.
As delegated by the Board of Directors of UM Health-Sparrow, the Board Quality Council will serve as the oversight committee for the transparency initiatives for UM Health-Sparrow.
