LANSING, Mich. – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow nurses Tanya Glew, R.N, Jodi Renfro, R.N., UR, and the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) nursing team were among the elite of Michigan nursing recently honored in Mlive Media Group’s Top Nurses Awards.

The UM Health-Sparrow nurses, along with 9 other caregivers, were recognized at a recent ceremony in Lansing for going above and beyond every day to provide quality, compassionate care to their patients. The honorees were among 168 nurses and nursing teams to be nominated by the public and chosen by Mlive.com, using expertise from health care leaders from across the state.

“I am so honored to be chosen as an honoree.  I really enjoy caring for people so it’s nice that someone recognized that,” said Glew.

Glew works as an overnight bedside nurse at UM Health-Sparrow Clinton, while Renfro, after decades as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse, now provides compassionate care directly to patients in their homes.
