UM Health-Sparrow Ionia unveils new pain management services

Published: May 6, 2024

University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Ionia is expanding its specialty care to now offer pain management services close to home, starting May 7.

Using the latest technology, UM Health-Sparrow Lansing’s team of highly skilled medical providers will offer the community a comprehensive approach for acute and chronic pain management.

Therapies offered will include injections and medications, pain psychology, diet and nutrition therapy and occupational therapy. Every patient will receive a personalized evaluation to establish an effective treatment plan that addresses their unique pain needs. A care manager will assist patients along their journey, work with their care team, help set pain goals and guide them through their chronic pain journey. Patients can expect their treatment plan to be monitored and reviewed regularly to help them reach success.

“The addition of pain management services in Ionia will provide our community with access to specialty care without having to travel. The highly skilled providers will actively work to improve our patients’ lives physically, functionally and emotionally,” said Linda Reetz, MBA, BSN, RN, NE-BC, president of UM Health-Sparrow Eaton and Ionia Hospitals.

UM Health-Sparrow Ionia Pain Management is located at 205 S. Dexter St., Ionia, inside the UM Health-Sparrow Ionia Rehabilitation Center. To learn more about this new service in Ionia, visit UofMHealthSparrow.org/IoniaPainManagement.
