IONIA, MI – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Ionia has awarded $1,000 scholarships to five Ionia County high school students who intend to pursue higher education in a health-related field.
The scholarships are being awarded with the hope of supporting the graduates in achieving their goals and, in turn, encouraging them to assist UM Health-Sparrow Ionia’s highly skilled team members in their efforts to provide leading-edge and compassionate care close to home.
2024 UM Health-Sparrow Health Care Scholarship recipients for Ionia County are:
- Briana Barnes, of Saranac, who plans to study Nursing at Grand Valley State University.
- Alaina Forist, of Portland, who plans to study Nurse Anesthesiology at Michigan State University.
- Natalie Hafner, of Pewamo, who plans to study Pre-Physical Therapy at Grand Valley State University.
- Rylee Scheurer, of Portland, who plans to study Nursing at Oakland University.
- Kayla Sterzick, of Lowell, who plans to study Neuroscience at the University of Michigan.
