UM Health-Sparrow Hospitals Receive Rural Health Awards

LANSING, Mich. – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow has been nationally recognized again for its community hospitals, with Carson, Clinton, Eaton and Ionia hospitals receiving exceptional marks for patient care, performance and quality outcomes. These top performing hospitals excel in managing risk, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction and operating at a lower cost than other community hospitals. They serve as a benchmark for other rural facilities striving to achieve similar results.

The hospitals received the 2024 Performance Leadership Awards from The Chartis Center for Rural Health for excellence in key areas:

The Performance Leadership Awards are determined using data from the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance Index, the leading objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Index data is widely used across the rural health care sector to evaluate and improve hospital performance.
