LANSING, Mich. – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology Services has released its Q3 report on drug-related deaths in the seven counties in which UM Health-Sparrow serves as medical examiner.
The report, which provides detail on each drug death and the type of drug involved, shows that local counties saw a decline in overall drug-related deaths from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2024, and the lowest number deaths since the same period in 2019. Ingham County also saw a significant decrease in drug-related deaths compared to the same timeframe in 2023.
