The new state-of-the-art facility, located at the former CARite car dealership on E. Saginaw Highway in Oneida Township, is expected to open in early 2027. The site will offer a wide range of comprehensive services, including urgent care, laboratory, retail pharmacy, primary care, specialty care, outpatient rehab and advanced imaging services. The primary care, urgent care and pharmacy services will be relocated from existing locations that are rented.

“As the health system of choice in Mid-Michigan, we understand the critical need for advanced care options within our communities, supported by our highly skilled teams who provide leading-edge services and treatments to those in need,” said Nancy McKeague, chair of the UM Health-Sparrow Board of Directors.

The facility represents UM Health-Sparrow’s ongoing commitment to provide local, high-quality care that is tailored to the growing needs of this area.

“With the recent announcement of a new oncology infusion center in Charlotte, and much more to come, U-M Health is following through on its mandate to expand services in our region and establish a statewide network of care,’’ said Connie O’Malley, regional chief operating officer, U-M Health.

The facility design will also emphasize environmental sustainability principles with an expectation of reaching Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. That means less energy and water use, demonstrating our longtime dedication to improving community health and protecting the environment.

Demolition of the current CARite dealership will begin right away. Construction on the new facility is expected to begin in Spring 2025.
