Sparrow Reopens Sports Injury Clinic in time for Fall Sports

LANSING, Mich. – The fall sports season is here, and we’re excited to announce that University of Michigan Health-Sparrow has reopened its Saturday Sports Injury Clinic to make it easier to get leading-edge treatment for those sports-related bumps, bruises, and more serious injuries.

The experienced UM Health-Sparrow Orthopedics and Sports Medicine physicians, APPs and athletic trainers will be ready to treat injuries every Saturday from 8-11 a.m. through May (excluding major holiday weekends).

The clinic, which is geared to keep all high school and community athletes healthy by providing X-rays, personalized home treatment plan instructions, expedited referrals for high-tech imaging and urgent appointments with highly skilled UM Health-Sparrow orthopedic surgeons if needed. No appointment is necessary, but parents and athletes should bring their insurance information to the clinic.

Since 2009, UM Health-Sparrow’s Sports Injury Clinic has been the go-to spot for same-day care, and during the week, our passionate team see athletes within 24 hours of an injury in order to get young athletes back in the game as quickly and safely as possible.

“Urgent post injury care is critically important for athletes at all levels to get them back on the field as quickly and safely as possible. We are proud to offer a walk-in option for our local athletes. UM Health-Sparrow Orthopedics and Sports Medicine providers are the most experienced in Mid-Michigan,” said Orthopedic and Sports Medicine physician assistant Amy Worthing, PA-C.

The Sports Injury Clinic is located on the 3rd floor at 4660 S. Hagadorn Road, Suite 310, East Lansing.
