Sparrow raises nearly $1 million for Children’s Center

LANSING, Mich. - The Sparrow Children's Center raised $980,996 through the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), culminating with this weekend's telethon.

But Sparrow, a CMN Hospital, still hopes to raise $1 million - money that all stays local.

"We're just short of the $1 million mark, so we're asking folks to donate what they can to help put us over the top," said Stella Cash, Sparrow Vice President of Development and Strategic Partnerships. "Every dollar donated helps to save the lives of our children."

"The generosity of our community is always humbling," added Cash. "Because we've been able to raise more than $20 million over the past 25 years, our local children have access to some of the best equipment, treatments, and Caregivers in the world. We can't thank everyone enough for participating in this miraculous event."

This weekend's telethon aired live on WILX-TV 10 and included News 10 anchors and reporters, as well as Michigan State University Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio and U.S. Olympic Gymnast and Gold Medalist Jordyn Wieber.
