The Michigan Health & Hospital Association (MHA) has presented Maude (Molly) Guerin, M.D., chair of Sparrow’s OB/GYN Department, with its Physician Leadership award recognizing those whose contributions to the field transcend the bounds of their own hospital or health system.

The MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety & Quality Leadership Award was presented during the 2015 MHA Patient Safety and Quality Symposium held in Detroit this week.

Dr. Guerin has always been a quality improvement advocate and is a respected Patient safety and quality leader at Sparrow. Her leadership in the OB/GYN Department has contributed to a positive safety culture, resulting in dramatically improved perinatal safety processes and outcomes.

As both a Physician and a board member of Sparrow Health System and Sparrow Hospital, Dr. Guerin has encouraged hospital leaders to adopt strategies that align with Sparrow’s vision of being a nationally recognized leader in safety and quality. She has initiated numerous efforts to improve performance metrics within the health system and has joined community efforts to promote prevention and awareness of preventable diseases.
