Sparrow Neurosciences Medical Director David Kaufman, D.O., is featured in a recent New York Times story about neurologists serving on the sidelines of college football games.
Dr. Kaufman, who is also Professor and Chair of Neurology at Michigan State University, was on-hand for Saturday's game, and only Michigan and Michigan State have a neurologist on the field for all home and away games.
Neurologists like Dr. Kaufman work on the field with team physicians to treat players right away when a potential concussion occurs.
