IONIA, MI – Alicia Ballard, D.O., recently joined Sparrow Ionia Hospital as an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in anterior hip replacements and osteoporosis management and providing prevention of sports injuries in athletes of all ages.
Dr. Ballard received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Michigan State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, she completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.
Her areas of interest, along with osteoporosis management and anterior hip replacements, include total knee replacement; shoulder and knee arthroscopy; complex fracture management; sports injuries and ankle fracture.
Dr. Ballard is accepting new Patients by referral at the Sparrow Ionia Rehabilitation & Physical Therapy office at 537 W. Main Street, Ionia. She joins Orthopedic Surgeon Michael Vaccariello, M.D., who came to Sparrow Ionia Hospital last fall.
