LANSING, MI – James F. Dover will become president and CEO of Sparrow Health System, effective June 17, 2019.
Dover comes to Sparrow from the Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), headquartered in Springfield, Ill. He most recently served as President and CEO of the HSHS Southern Illinois Division, comprised of five hospitals and affiliated medical and cardiovascular groups. “I am very excited to be joining the Sparrow Health System family of Physicians, Caregivers, leaders, governance and Volunteers,” Dover said. “Everyone I have met at Sparrow has demonstrated their commitment to excellence and doing their best to support the communities we serve. Sparrow is a remarkable system, and I am excited about leading Mid-Michigan’s premier health system.”
Dover has over 36 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare systems, including as Regional Chief Executive Officer for the Daughters of Charity Health System in Los Altos, Calif.; CEO of St. Anthony North Hospital in Westminster, Colo.; President and CEO of Lourdes Health Network in Pasco, Wash.; Executive Vice President of HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator, Ill.; Vice President of Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Walla Walla, Wash.; and Vice President of Operations for Pleasant Valley Hospital District in Camarillo, Calif.
Dover has expertise in Physician integration, organization development, governing board relations, population health management, and strategic market integration. He has a track record of creating and maintaining excellent environments resulting in the highest Caregiver, Physician and Patient satisfaction. Dover is looking forward to engaging Sparrow’s Physicians, Advanced Medical Providers, Nurses and all Caregivers in a collaborative and integrative relationship to ensure the highest quality care possible for Patients, their families, and the Sparrow communities throughout mid-Michigan
