LANSING, MI – Friday is the last day to get COVID vaccines at the nationally known Sparrow Frandor Drive-Thru Services site but the location will still be a hub for blood tests and COVID testing.
Blood draws and COVID testing will continue to be offered from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The location, 3131 E. Michigan Ave., is an excellent alternative to crowded lab waiting rooms. Wait times have been minimal in recent weeks at the Frandor site.
Sparrow Health System has given 138,000 COVID vaccines to the community since early 2021, with more than 100,000 at the Frandor drive-thru. In April 2021, Sparrow transitioned to an indoor site at the old Sears, at one point providing more than 2,000 vaccines in a single day. The indoor location closed in June 2021.

COVID vaccines are ending at the site as demand has waned and the most recent COVID surge has dissipated. The community is urged to get vaccines at their Sparrow Medical Group office or a Sparrow Urgent Care location.
The COVID vaccine staff at the Frandor drive-thru has been comprised mostly of hundreds of community volunteers, including Michigan State University students, retired health professionals, corporate groups such as Delta Dental, Jackson National and MSUFCU, and others. Sparrow gives a heartfelt thanks to those volunteers who endured freezing cold and extreme heat to provide care to the community.
