CHARLOTTE, MI – Outgoing Sparrow Eaton Hospital board member Leonore “Lori” Pray was honored for her years of service at a recent celebration dinner.
Pray, CFO of Pray Funeral Home, has contributed more than 15 years of voluntary service to our local hospital board as well as supported the Mobile Meals program.
Pray said her favorite aspects of being on the Sparrow Eaton board was gaining a better understanding and appreciating the complexity of health care and seeing firsthand what small town hospitals give to their greater community by way of quality and care.

In recognition of Pray’s significant contribution of time and talent, she was awarded the Dr. Frederick Darin Board of Directors Service Award by the current Board Chair, Harper Wildern, O.D. She is the second recipient of this honor following Dr. Frederick Darin, the award’s namesake.
“In Lori's 15 years of service she always kept the community and patient care as her top priority and we genuinely appreciate her investment,” says Wildern. “Her leadership and experience on our board supported a seamless transition from HGB (Hayes Green Beach) to Sparrow Eaton, that we will carry forward as we now become UM Health-Sparrow.”
The Frederick Darin award seeks to recognize publicly an individual who has, through long-term and substantive effort, made transformational contributions to the work of Sparrow Eaton Hospital. “I am so honored to receive this award,” Pray said. “Fred’s long term hospital board membership and exemplary leadership helped model my own service to our wonderful, community hospital.”
