Sparrow Clinton Honors X-Ray/CT Technician with BEE Award

Published: March 5, 2024

ST. JOHNS, MI – Sparrow Clinton Hospital recently celebrated eight nominated caregivers, including one special honoree, during a BEE Award ceremony to recognize excellence among clinical support caregivers who work alongside nursing teams.

Countless nominations from patients and their families mentioned the compassion and kindness shown by the caregivers at Sparrow Clinton. However, one nomination stood out.

X-ray/CT Technician Bryon Bockes is this quarter’s BEE Honoree. Bockes, who formerly worked at Sparrow in Lansing, was nominated by a patient’s family member for his compassion, making the family laugh and ensuring the patient was warm and comfortable during a long test.

“Bryon has compassionate and empathetic behaviors. His personality is calm and soft spoken. These characteristics are perfect for frontline caregivers to possess,” said Shawn Galecka, director of diagnostic services at Sparrow Clinton.

BEE is an acronym for BE Excellent Every day. Acknowledging the strength behind teamwork, the award is given in conjunction with the DAISY Award to symbolize the relationship between nursing and clinical support caregivers – the same way bees and flowers depend on each other.
