CARSON CITY, MI – Sparrow Carson Hospital has upgraded its MRI equipment to provide more room and comfort for Patients, a common source of anxiety when having an MRI.
The new MRI Magnetom Aera adds several improvements for Patient comfort, as well as technology upgrades. The changes address Patient concerns about being cramped in a small chamber while getting an MRI.
The upgraded MRI has an increased bore size of four inches, meaning more room for the Patient. It is also shorter in length, which means less of the Patient’s body needs to be inside. The new MRI also incorporates music during the exam to create a relaxing atmosphere.
Exam quality has improved with the upgrade as well. The Magnetom Aera offers the latest in MRI technology, including the ability to personalize high-resolution images for Patients.
“With our new system, we are able to increase our Patients’ comfort with the improved design and the addition of music during the exam decreases Patient anxiety. We’re also able to provide our Physicians with higher resolution images to assist with their diagnosis,” said Lori Grant, Director of Ancillary Services at Sparrow Carson Hospital.
Patients should speak to their Physicians about being referred to Sparrow Carson for their MRI.
