CARSON CITY, MI – Sparrow Carson Hospital MRI Tech Tyler Yager is the first recipient of the hospital’s BEE Award for exceptional caregivers who support clinical and non-clinical colleagues.
BEE is an acronym for “Be Exceptional Every day” and recipients are selected quarterly from nominations received by patients and colleagues. Yager received nominations from two patients, who noted his ability to set them at ease with his excellent communication skills on what they could expect during their MRI, as well as his outstanding focus on ensuring they were comfortable.
“Ty has cared for patients at Sparrow Carson for 34 years and has a way of comforting his patients to ensure their tests are completed comfortably and efficiently. He is the perfect caregiver to represent Sparrow Carson’s first BEE Honoree,” said Andy Switzer, imaging supervisor.

The BEE program complements the current DAISY recognition program for nursing caregivers. Acknowledging the strength behind teamwork, the award is given in conjunction with the DAISY Award to symbolize the relationship between nursing and clinical support caregivers – the same way bees and flowers depend on one another.
