Sparrow Carson’s Mary McClain, RN, accepts her DAISY Nurse Leader award from Chief Nursing Officer Monte Malek, RN.
The DAISY Nurse Leader Award was created to help shine light on those not in direct patient care who utilize their skills to create an environment of compassion, safety and quality. McClain’s announcement read:
“Mary was recognized by the Nurse Leadership Team for this award due to her tireless ‘behind the scenes’ efforts that ensure our daily operations run smoothly and that caregivers have the educational training and support they need to provide excellent care to our community measures. She is also instrumental in our performance improvement programs and our tracking of data to support our accreditation standards. She is a hands-on educator who supports the staff by working alongside them in bedside care activities for our patients, providing education on best practices.
