Sparrow participated in a community meeting Aug. 12 that brought together leaders of organizations that would work together during a large scale disaster.
The meeting, which included representatives from local governments, Ingham County Health Department, Michigan State University, Lansing Community College and more, aimed to strengthen our partnerships as we focus on emergency preparedness in our community.
Jeff Kay, Sparrow’s Director of Accreditation, spoke during the meeting about the care we’d provide in a disaster and the support we’d need from partner organizations. As the region’s largest health system and the Level 1 Trauma Center, Sparrow would hold a critical role in an large scale emergency in mid-Michigan.
