Sparrow Medical Group (SMG) St. Johns earned designation by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as a Blues Provider Distinction Award winner for the second consecutive year.
The primary care practice was recognized for its outstanding achievement in meeting Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set® measures related to the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s Star Quality Program.

Criteria for earning the Provider Distinction Award was based on 2013 base performance recognition program data for care provided to BCBSM Medicare Plus Blue PPO and BCN Advantage HMO-POS members. Practices must receive an 80 percent or higher composite quality score to be eligible for an award.
