During his 33 years at Sparrow, Jack Judy has created a living legacy of quality care. As Adult Critical Care Preceptor for the Respiratory Department, he has mentored more than 100 respiratory therapy students, many of whom continue to serve throughout Sparrow Health System.

“The students love the fact that Jack takes his time with them,” said Director of Pulmonary Services Shari Heydenburg, who was herself one of his students 25 years ago.

We are proud to feature Jack in December’s Caregiver Spotlight, honoring those who go above and beyond in providing extraordinary care, making sure the needs of the Patient always come first.

Jack also does quarterly educational in-services for respiratory therapists, and interacts with many other disciplines throughout the hospital on how to interact with families and Patients to make the experience better for everyone involved.

“I enjoy learning and it’s always been my passion to educate,” he said. “Things are always changing because the medical field is so dynamic. It’s important to teach and share that new information.”
