LANSING, MI – University of Michigan Health-Sparrow recently honored a host of outstanding medical providers who have distinguished themselves for their highly skilled care and a lifetime of expertise in protecting the community.
Recognized as UM Health-Sparrow Physician of the Year was Eghosa Olomu, MD, who is chair of radiology at UM Health-Sparrow. Dr. Olomu was raised in Okemos and his parents, Drs. Isoken and Adesuwa Olomu, are also highly accomplished physicians in Lansing. He provides strategic planning, vision and leadership in concert with other leaders and has worked in collaboration with others to ensure continued radiology care for our system.

Dr. Olomu has a passion for teaching and has been instrumental in expanding and creating new radiology services at UM Health-Sparrow, such as prostate MRI fusion biopsies.
For our Advanced Practice Provider Award, the honoree is Jason Inman, PA-C, of UM Health-Sparrow Heart and Vascular. Inman has been providing cardiovascular care as a physician assistant in Mid-Michigan since 2006 and works in both an inpatient and outpatient role, focusing on general cardiology and structural cardiology.
The annual Physician Leadership Award is given to Jim Sylvain, DO, of Mary Free Bed at UM Health-Sparrow. Dr. Sylvain has been medical director at the inpatient rehabilitation unit since its inception in 2014. The award-winning unit has been named the national top performer in overall quality of care for six consecutive years.

Physician Hall of Fame - Kenneth Gorney, PA-C
- Francesca Dwamena, MD, MSU Medicine Specialty Center: A practicing doctor and attending physician at UM Health-Sparrow Lansing since 1996, she is a professor and past chair of medicine at MSU. She has trained generations of medical students, residents, doctors and teachers to use evidence-based methods to enhance communication and provide excellent medical care to thousands of patients in Lansing and across the country. In 2022, she established the first premium assisted living facility for elders in Ghana.
- Paul Goldschlack, DO, Capital Cardiology: Dr. Goldschlack has provided cardiovascular care to Mid-Michigan since joining MSU in 1983 and has taken pride in his interventional cardiology practice and long tenure of patient care. Before recently retiring, he was an active member of the American College of Osteopathic Internists.
- Kenneth Gorney, PA-C, UM Health-Sparrow Lansing Behavioral Health: He has provided psychiatric care at UM Health-Sparrow Lansing since 2015 and has worked in psychiatry for over 25 years. He has been instrumental in the development of physician assistants and continues to train and lecture at MSU, Central Michigan University, University of Detroit Mercy and Lawrence Tech.
The honorees were recognized at a recent dinner hosted by the UM Health-Sparrow Women's Board of Managers, who also selected the nominees, and was sponsored by PNC.
