LANSING, Mich. - Scott Wilkerson, president and CEO of the Lansing-based Physicians Health Plan, has been appointed to a new state board that will focus on job creation and developing and connecting the state's talent.
The 47-member Talent Investment Board was created by Gov. Rick Snyder.
"I am very excited to have been asked by the governor to serve on this board. Investing in Michigan's human resources will be the key driver of the state's economic growth in the future," said Wilkerson. "I look forward to working with members of the Talent Investment Board to develop pathways for Michigan job seekers to obtain the skills that are needed by Michigan employers."
The new board is housed under the Workforce Development Agency in the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Wilkerson, of Okemos, will represent Michigan businesses on the board.
