Sparrow today celebrated the dedication of a new Interventional Suite, offering advanced 3D imaging and other state-of-the-art technology to more precisely diagnose and treat ailments such as coronary artery disease, stroke, and cancer.
The new Interventional Suite, serving cardiology, neurology and radiology, features the Siemens Artis Q, which offers revolutionary new X-ray tube and detector technology, for precision imaging for diagnosis and use during angioplasty and other interventional procedures.
“For our Patients, this new suite provides state-of-the-art imaging that can be carried out alongside therapeutic procedures without having to transfer the Patient to another location,” says Syed Hussain, M.D., Medical Director of Stroke Services at Sparrow and a Michigan State University HealthTeam neurologist.
“The Artis Q gives Physicians more accurate pictures for diagnosis and treatment, streamlines our work process and exposes our Patients to less radiation, up to 60 percent less, which is always one of our concerns. This enables us to improve workflow, utilize best practices, and ultimately improve Patient care and the overall Patient experience.”
Highlights include:
- A new X-ray tube that can help Physicians identify small vessels up to 70 percent better than conventional X-ray tube technology
- 3D applications designed to image the smallest structures inside the head with high spatial resolution
- 3D imaging in less than three seconds of moving organs such as the lungs, reducing motion artifacts and the required amount of contrast agent
- 3Head to toe imaging capability with high contrast resolution at any angle and any Patient size
- Enhanced image quality with advanced 3D imaging
