July 31 is National Heatstroke Prevention Day, and we want to remind you that child heatstroke in cars can happen even in mild weather.
Heatstroke deaths have happened when vehicles were parked in shade and the temperatures were lower than 80 degrees.
Tips to prevent heatstroke include:
- Never leave a child alone in a car, even for a minute.
- Look before you lock - Always check the back seats of your vehicle before you lock it and walk away.
- Take action if you see a child alone in a car.
