In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, a health panel will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at Sparrow Hospital presenting a range of free health information geared to the Hispanic community.
The event, titled Healthy Hispanics!, will feature information on such issues as diabetes, heart disease, exercise and nutrition. Panelists will include physicians, health and wellness experts, and other specialists from Sparrow, the Michigan Department of Public Health, and the community. The program will be in both English and Spanish.
The event is co-sponsored by Sparrow, the Lansing Latino Health Alliance and the Hispanic/Latino Commission of Michigan.
"This forum will provide health care information that is culturally sensitive and meaningful to our Hispanic community. This collaboration demonstrates Sparrow's commitment to 'patient first,'" said Jacqueline Thomas-Hall, Director, Diversity & Inclusion/Pastoral Care at Sparrow.
The panel will be held from 3-5 p.m. in Sparrow's main auditorium, located on the basement level east of the Neumann elevators. Free parking is available in the ramp across the street from the hospital next to the Sparrow Professional Building.
