Sparrow Children’s Center’s first-ever Hair-a-thon was a huge success on Saturday, Sept. 12 with over 50 hair donations!
An impressive line of donors had already lined up in the hospital lobby before the cuts were even scheduled to begin. The donations came from people of all ages and both genders, including many Sparrow Caregivers and their families.
The donated hair will go to Wigs 4 Kids and Children with Hair Loss, two Michigan-based organizations that provide free wigs to kids in need.
We are already looking ahead to Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 for our 2nd Annual Hair-a-Thon, so here is your “heads up” to start growing your hair out for a worthy cause. Minimum donation length is eight inches.
More pictures from the event will be posted in a photo album on Sparrow’s Facebook page.
