LANSING, Mich. - With the new year fast approaching here is your chance to get a 2012 calendar featuring well-known local names who strutted the runway in support of women's health initiatives.
The Sparrow Foundation is taking orders for the 2012 "Dapper Dads Calendar," created using photos from this year's record-setting $125,000 annual "Dapper Dads Challenge" and fashion show.
More than 400 people attended the June fashion show emceed by MSU Women's Basketball coach Suzy Merchant and sponsored by Sparrow Foundation's Women Working Wonders (W3)Committee.
Participants competed for the title of "Top Model" with the 13 top vote-getters appearing in the calendar. In order they are: Kenneth Stewart, Glenn Granger; Dan Warmels; Chris Holman; Kellie Dean; John Pirich; Pat McPharlin; Brig Sorber; Jim Robinson; Charles Janssen; Greg Brogan; Jim Epolito; and Andre Hutson.
Since 2002, the W3 committee has raised more than $800,000 and supported state-of-the-art equipment in radiation and oncology, the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Room, a bereavement room in labor and delivery for parents who've lost a newborn, an endowment for Hospice Transitions, and pocketbook informational "heart cards" for women.
